Transforming Organizational Direction and Work Practices

To better articulate the social value of its activities, the organization redefined its direction through inclusive dialogue.

By restructuring and revising systems, it clarified roles, enhanced transparency, and fostered a stronger culture of mutual support.

The Need for Change to Enhance Social Value

It became necessary to more clearly convey the social value created by the organization’s activities, while at the same time refreshing employees’ mindsets and ways of working to align with the organization’s purpose and the needs of the times. In addition, challenges specific to small organizations had become evident, including reliance on individual expertise, a lack of transparency in evaluation and compensation, unclear role division, and inefficiencies in work processes.

Driving Change Through Dialogue and Phased Improvements

The process began with an all-staff meeting to share voices across the organization and clarify ideas and expectations for a new direction. Following this, organizational restructuring was carried out, and systems were reviewed in stages to push the transformation forward.

Strengthening Foundations Through System and Process Renewal

  • All-staff meeting
Shared organizational needs and discussed both the current state and the desired future of the organization’s strategies.

  • Review of purpose and values
Purpose, mission, vision, and values were redefined by leadership while incorporating employee input.

  • Organizational restructuring
Established a department structure aligned with actual work content, clarifying roles and responsibilities.

  • Evaluation system revision
Simplified complex evaluation criteria to focus on outcomes, while reflecting the newly defined values in behavioral assessments.

  • Compensation framework
Introduced job-level salary ranges to improve transparency and increase employee acceptance.

  • Job descriptions
Defined expectations and performance standards for each role, making responsibilities more visible.

Shifts in Direction and Culture

  • Initially, the organization’s value was unclear and uncertainty about the future was high, but continued dialogue helped build shared understanding.
  • Through restructuring and role clarification, a culture of mutual support among employees was strengthened.
  • With a stronger organizational foundation, the organization became better positioned to communicate its social value externally.

Continuous Improvement and the Next Steps

Regular leadership dialogues continued after the restructuring, creating a foundation for consistently sharing direction and progress. Going forward, the focus will be on more strategic and reliable actions to achieve outcomes and further expand the scale of activities.
